Privacy Policy — Learn Fittings
How Hose Box Inc. handles information on LearnFittings.com, a free educational site with no accounts that may use Google Analytics.
Last Updated: June 4, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Hose Box Inc. handles information in connection with LearnFittings.com. Hose Box Inc. ("Hose Box," "we," "us," or "our") operates LearnFittings.com (the "Site") as a free, bilingual (English and Spanish) educational resource that teaches how to identify hydraulic fittings and D.O.T. air fittings, including thread types, sealing methods, torque specifications, hose and dash sizing, and related formulas, using our color-coded Fitting Tiles(R) system. The Site is part of our Learn Fittings(R) program. Because the Site is designed as a near-zero-data educational reference, we collect very little information about you. This Policy describes what limited information may be collected, how it is used, with whom it may be shared, and the choices available to you. It applies only to LearnFittings.com and not to hosebox.com, which is operated under its own separate terms and privacy policy. Please read this Policy together with our Terms of Service, Disclaimer, and Accessibility statements, which govern your use of the Site.
Overview
The Site is a free educational resource. It has no user accounts, no login, no online store, no payments, and no contact or submission forms. You do not need to provide any personal information to read and use the educational content on the Site. We do not sell or rent your personal information, and no cookies are required simply to read the content.
To help us understand how the Site is used and to keep it working reliably, we may use Google Analytics, which relies on cookies and similar technologies. We also embed instructional videos using privacy-friendly methods that load only after you choose to play them. We honor recognized browser-based privacy signals such as Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control, as described below. If we add new features in the future, such as an email newsletter, we will update this Policy to describe them before or when they go live.
The Short Version
No accounts, no logins, no forms, and no online store. We do not sell or rent your personal information. The only optional tracking is Google Analytics, which you can opt out of, and we honor Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals.
Information We Collect
Information You Provide
The Site does not contain any forms, accounts, or other tools for submitting information to us. As a result, you do not provide personal information through the Site itself. If you choose to contact us directly by email or telephone, we will receive the information you decide to share with us, which may include your name, email address, telephone number, and the contents of your message. We use that information only to respond to and document your inquiry.
Information Collected Automatically
Like virtually all websites, the Site is delivered through a hosting provider that automatically records standard server and host log information when your browser requests a page. This log data may include your Internet Protocol (IP) address, your browser and device type, the referring URL, the pages you view, and the date and time of your visit. Our hosting provider collects this information for routine purposes such as operating, maintaining, and securing the Site, diagnosing technical problems, and detecting and preventing abuse. This information is generated as a normal part of how the internet works and is not used by us to identify you personally.
Analytics
We may use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google LLC, to help us understand how visitors find and use the Site. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect usage data such as the pages you view, your approximate location (derived from your IP address), and your device and browser characteristics. This information helps us measure traffic, identify which guides are most useful, and improve the educational content. To learn how Google collects and processes data, see Google's Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy. You can opt out of Google Analytics across websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
Embedded Video Content
The Site embeds instructional videos from YouTube and Vimeo. We use a privacy-friendly, "click-to-load" approach: YouTube videos are embedded through the youtube-nocookie.com domain, and both YouTube and Vimeo embeds load only after you click to play them. This means that, until you actively choose to play a video, the video provider does not load its player or set its cookies. Once you play an embedded video, that provider may collect data about your interaction under its own privacy policy. To learn more, see YouTube's and Google's Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy and Vimeo's Privacy Policy at https://vimeo.com/privacy.
Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Cookies are small text files that a website or its service providers may store on your device. The Site does not require any cookies for you to read its educational content. The only cookies that may be set are analytics cookies placed by Google Analytics, if and when that service is active. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not allow third parties to use the Site to build advertising profiles about you.
You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies, or alert you before a cookie is stored. If you block analytics cookies, the educational content on the Site will continue to function normally. Please note that browser controls are specific to each browser and device, so you may need to update your preferences in each browser you use.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) setting, and some browsers and extensions transmit a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal that communicates a user's privacy preferences. Because the Site does not sell personal information, does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and does not track you across third-party websites over time, there is little tracking activity for these signals to limit. Where our analytics service or your browser recognizes a DNT or GPC signal, we will give effect to it consistent with how that service supports the signal, and we will not use the Site to track you across other websites regardless of the signal. This disclosure is provided in accordance with the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA).
How We Use Information
We use the limited information described in this Policy to operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Site; to understand how visitors use the Site so that we can make the educational content clearer and more useful; to diagnose and fix technical problems and protect against fraud, abuse, and security threats; to respond to and document inquiries you send us by email or telephone; and to comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal processes. We do not use the information collected through the Site to make automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects about you.
How We Share Information
WE DO NOT SELL OR RENT YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION. We share information only in the limited circumstances described here. We share information with service providers that help us operate the Site, such as our hosting provider and Google Analytics, which process information on our behalf or under their own terms in order to deliver, secure, and measure the Site. We may disclose information when we believe in good faith that doing so is necessary to comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, subpoena, or an enforceable governmental request; to enforce our Terms of Service or other agreements; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Hose Box, our users, or the public. Finally, if Hose Box is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, due diligence, reorganization, bankruptcy, sale of assets, or other business transfer, information may be transferred or disclosed as part of that transaction, subject to the protections of this Policy.
Your Privacy Choices
You can exercise meaningful control over the limited information associated with your use of the Site. You may opt out of Google Analytics across websites by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. You may control or block cookies through your browser settings, and you may transmit a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal as described above. You may also choose not to play embedded videos, in which case the video providers will not load. If you have any questions or requests about your privacy, you can contact us at support@hosebox.com.
California Privacy Rights
We comply with the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA), which applies to operators of commercial websites and online services that collect personally identifiable information from California residents. Our compliance includes providing this Privacy Policy, identifying the categories of information that may be collected, describing the process (if any) by which changes are made to this Policy, and providing the Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control disclosure set out above.
Hose Box Inc. is not currently a "business" subject to the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (the "CCPA/CPRA"), because it does not meet the statutory thresholds that trigger those laws. We therefore do not claim CCPA/CPRA-covered status. Nevertheless, as a courtesy and matter of good practice, we voluntarily extend CCPA-style rights to California residents. Subject to verification of your identity and to applicable legal limits, you may request to know and access the personal information we hold about you, to correct inaccurate personal information, and to delete personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information. To exercise these voluntary rights, or to ask a question about them, please email us at support@hosebox.com with enough detail for us to locate any information and respond to your request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
Children's Privacy
The Site is intended for a general, professional audience and is not directed to children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you believe that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@hosebox.com so that we can take appropriate steps to remove that information.
Data Retention
Because the Site collects very little information, we retain information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy or as required by applicable law. Server and host log data and analytics data are retained according to the standard retention practices of our hosting provider and Google Analytics. Information you send us by email or telephone is kept only as long as needed to respond to and document your inquiry, unless a longer retention period is required for legal, accounting, or security reasons.
Data Security
We maintain reasonable administrative and technical safeguards designed to protect the limited information associated with the Site against loss, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. HOWEVER, NO METHOD OF TRANSMISSION OVER THE INTERNET OR METHOD OF ELECTRONIC STORAGE IS 100% SECURE, AND WE CANNOT GUARANTEE OR WARRANT THE ABSOLUTE SECURITY OF ANY INFORMATION. You transmit information to us, including by email, at your own risk, and you are responsible for taking reasonable precautions to protect any information you choose to send to us.
International Visitors
The Site is operated from the United States and is intended primarily for users in the United States. If you access the Site from outside the United States, please be aware that any information involved in your use of the Site may be processed in and transferred to the United States, where data protection laws may differ from, and may be less protective than, those in your country. By using the Site, you consent to the processing and transfer of information in and to the United States as described in this Policy.
Third-Party Links
The Site may contain links to third-party websites, services, and resources, including hosebox.com, Google, YouTube, and Vimeo, that are not operated or controlled by us. This Policy does not apply to those third-party properties, and we are not responsible for their content, privacy practices, or security. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any third-party website or service you visit.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, the Site, or applicable law. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this Policy. If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you, such as by posting a prominent notice on the Site. Your continued use of the Site after an updated Policy takes effect means that you accept the changes.
